ABOUT Sarah
Sarah Mervyn embarked on her illustrious career as a competitive dancer in Brighton, MI, over 25 years ago. Trained in the prestigious Vaganova method at the Academy of Russian Classical Ballet, BalletMet, and the Milwaukee Ballet School, Sarah's talent led her to pre-professional ballet programs worldwide.
As a seasoned performer, Sarah graced the stage in both leading and supporting roles in classical ballets such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Don Quixote.
Transitioning to teaching over a decade ago, Sarah's dedication saw her directing a ballet program across multiple cities in the Upper Peninsula. A prolific producer, Sarah has brought to life several full-length ballets including Giselle, The Nutcracker, and Coppelia. Expanding her artistic horizons, Sarah ventured into musical theatre, choreographing acclaimed productions of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Singin’ in the Rain.
In 2021, Sarah achieved her fifth and final level of Alixa Flexibility certification, followed by the addition of Acrobatic Arts to her diverse repertoire in 2023. Today, Sarah serves as a dedicated full-time teacher and choreographer for competitive and recreational dancers across several metro-Detroit studios. Sarah's expertise extends beyond the studio, as she also excels as a full-time competitive judge at the national level and a sought-after freelance choreographer during the springs and summers.

With a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset, Sarah adeptly manages all facets of studio operations, including overseeing email communications, meticulously crafting schedules, and implementing effective digital marketing strategies. Her organizational prowess ensures streamlined workflows and efficient communication within the studio environment, while her strategic approach has consistently driven growth and increased engagement among students and their families.
